Reports to: Park Presentation Manager

Department: Gardens and Landscape Department Direct Reports: Landscape Operatives

Role Overview: The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management, scheduling of tasks throughout the season, development and enhancement of all landscaped areas within the park. This role ensures the highest standards of landscape construction and maintenance throughout the park. Previous experience in a large garden/estate/zoo with both landscape construction projects and maintenance overseen is an essential element for this role

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

· Develop and implement a clear Landscape strategy aligned with the company’s overall vision and goals.

· Drive innovation in work practices, maintain high standards at all times of the year and guest experiences within the landscaped areas within the park.

· Lead the Landscape and Gardens team in new projects and developments within the park and its environs.

Operational Management

· Oversee day-to-day operations for the maintenance and scheduling of tasks of all green spaces and hard standing areas within the park.

· Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional management of the plant collection throughout the park.

· Establish and enforce operational standards, SOPs and compliance with best work practices and all Health and Safety standards.

Role Performance

· Develop and improve all landscaped areas within the park.

· Optimise work practices to ensure park is presentable to guests every season of the year.

· Implement effective inventory management, waste reduction, and cost-control measures.

People Leadership

· Lead, mentor, and train a high-performing Gardens team with a strong guest focused approach.

· Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, training, and career growth.

· Oversee training, onboarding, and performance evaluations for key Landscape team personnel.

Guest Experience

· Uphold and elevate the highest standards in the presentation of the park delivered through good plant collection management practices.

· Ensure all amenity grassland areas are managed throughout the year for the enjoyment of guests.

· Collaborate with other departments to develop new initiatives and themed areas for seasonal events and future park growth.

Sustainability & Innovation

· Drive sustainability initiatives in increasing biodiversity, waste management, and energy use.

· Lead and develop new landscaped spaces and themed areas within the park through sustainable materials and suitable planting schemes.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

· Achievement of ensuring all areas remain at agreed presentation levels

· Guest satisfaction and review scores (e.g., guest surveys)

· Employee engagement, CPD and retention rates

· Cost control (materials & consumables

· Compliance with health and safety standards

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field.

· Minimum 8–10 years of progressive Landscape Operations experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

· Proven track record in managing hard and soft landscape projects.

· Experienced in operating machinery in all aspects of landscape construction and maintenance.

· Excellent plant identification and knowledge.
