Requirements:·
- Applicants must be 17 years or older
- Prior work experience is not a prerequisite, and we welcome individuals who are entering the workforce for the first time.
- This is a seasonal contract position. Estimated start date March 20th – September 30th, 2026. Contracts may be extended.
The Role:
As a Seasonal Team Member in our Discovery and Learning Department, you will play a key role in creating positive interaction between our guests and the zoo.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure visitors adhere to the park’s safety guidelines and protocols.
- Be vigilant to the health, welfare, and behaviour of our animals.
- Interact and offer insight to our guests about the animals, their habitats and conservation.
- Encourage our visitors to ask questions, engage with signage throughout the park and visit our other experiences.
- Ensure the walk-through enclosures are accessible to visitors i.e. clearing paths.
- Note any potential hazards to senior staff members.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A good knowledge of animals and wildlife, with a keen interest to gain more knowledge.
- Excellent observation skills and can show their initiative and professionalism in any situation.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with guests and team members.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and go that extra mile.
